My Yogic Teaching Sabbatical

I’m called to publicly share this letter I wrote to the yogic community i’ve been blessed to commune with for the past eight years here in Asheville.

I am going to take a sabbatical from teaching yoga. I am finding my new path forward with the knowledge that Yogi Bhajan, the man we have uplifted for bringing the technology of Kundalini Yoga was essentially a con artist. That being said, I need some time to find what my practice looks like after I have stripped away all that is not true. Unfortunately, he was a fantastic liar, so the process will require hours of research to find what was real, and what was made up from this 'lineage'.

From there, I will then need time to create my own practice as I integrate other aspects from my yogic roots that I have been cultivating for the past 25 years.

I wish for you to know that I truly value you. My hope is that you understand that for me this is really deep. I felt inclined to step away in the Spring of this year when the abuses were revealed in a newfound way, however I kept up for this community, particularly in the time of covid. Community is extremely important to me.

I will continue to offer my Womxn's Dark Moon gatherings, private astrology sessions, alchemy sessions, pilgrimages, workshops, and online courses (my first launches in the Spring).

Ultimately I know that I'm creating space to see what wishes to be birthed out of this massive death.

I wish to offer a deep bow to all whom have been affected by this revelation. My heart is with the survivors of abuse, and I can only imagine the trauma so many have been through in the Kundalini Yoga community. I apologize for any way I may have caused harm through this tradition. Please forgive me for my ignorance.

We are all on this great journey of conscious cosmic evolution together. I bow to each one of you in gratitude for the teachings you have offered me through your heart.
