Connecting to the Earth is an essential part of healing. Within the field of alternative healing many are focused on raising the energy, raising the consciousness and getting spiritually high. The essential foundation of this practice is first rooting and grounding into the Earth.
A simple way to ground to the Earth is to go outside, removing shoes and socks. Place your feet on the Earth and stand tall. As you stand imagine the feet connecting to the Earth. As you breathe standing with your spine long and with the shoulders relaxed, the arms by your sides, your hips comfortably aligned with your feet, begin to imagine the chakras in the soles of the feet opening and expanding into the Earth. Allow yourself to tune into the energy of your feet flowing into the Earth, and the energy of the Earth flowing into your feet. Working with this energy, even just for a few breaths a day will assist you in connecting and grounding to the Earth.
I’ve been in love with stones from a young age and began consciously learning about them in my teens. In my early twenties I fell in love with my husband while rockhounding and exploring the lands of California. When I moved to Asheville, I was blessed to meet my Stone Teacher about six weeks later. Since then, I’ve been on a path of learning about Stone Medicine as taught through the Daoist Lineage. Our root teacher, Jeffrey Yuen is an 88th Daoist master. Ancient Chinese Medicine is literally built upon Stone Medicine.
Stones and crystals are truly divine--a manifestation of pure consciousness that is here on Earth, rooting in support, love and wisdom from the Cosmos. Stones and crystals each have unique abilities and ways of supporting all life on Earth. Some stones love to consolidate energy, some love to disperse energy. Some stones guide one to uncover deep wisdom, to journey into the caverns of their heart and some fill holes left by years of addiction and self hatred.
Smoky Quartz--also known as the “inky outstanding stone”-- is such an amazing stone as it is deeply grounding. It’s the ideal stone to put in someone’s hand if they are scattered. It’s a great travelers stone--not only for it’s grounding abilities--it protects one from EMFs and pollutants in the environment.
I love Smoky Quartz so much because it assists one with attracting their tribe. For many of us, we carry a wound of missing our tribe, that special bond with a group of people who truly get you, you know you at a soul level. With a tribe you may show up vulnerable and they will support you no matter what. As a woman who has moved over 30 times in my life since the age of seven days I totally relate to this longing.
Smoky Quartz has truly assisted me in calling in a group of kindred souls that I know I have incarnated with to do sacred work. If your soul has this longing, or you just long to connect deeply with the Earth, I invite you to call upon the medicine of Smoky Quartz.
