ancestral healing

Ra Ma

A week ago 16 women gathered in the Pisgah forest at a special site and camped near a free flowing creek.  We were called to come together in a sacred way for 25 hours in honor our Earth, the Moon, the Appalachian lands, Woman, our lineages, ourselves, and our land within, our wombs.

Over the course of our time together we immersed ourselves in the elements and the beauty of nature. Stone Medicine, Kundalini Meditation, Ceremony and Sweat Lodge were our ways of coming together and getting to know one another on a deep level.

Ancestral healing was our theme in conjunction with Sacred Marriage. When I crafted this event I felt the Sacred Marriage was about the merging of the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine. However, now I see clearly the Sacred Marriage is the merging and appreciation of the ancestral realm with our mundane world.

I believe this is an essential piece of the puzzle many of us are looking for. Since our campout I've received heart centered feedback from a number of women who just can't stop thinking about our time together.

Women are needing sisterhood and community more than ever. It is truly a remedy, a salve for these times. When I use the word sisterhood, I mean this is the truest sense of the word. Coming together in a sacred container, dropping the stories and the judgments, the competitive undertones and the comparison patterns. We need a space to come together in the elements and to sit in sacred circle, tending a sacred fire.

A number of women have reached out to their living relatives since our gathering, wishing to make peace where old conflicts were creating barriers. Women are curious and want to know more of their stories of their lineage.

Many of us are hearing our ancestors loud and clear, and feeling their guidance as they assist our journeys forward in this time and space. It's clear this work has just begun for many of us and that there is a real need for it.  Some believe our illnesses and chronic patterns including addiction are often in place because of an ancestral healing that needs to occur.

I am committed to continuing this work.  On our 16 day pilgrimage to Avalon this August we will have the ability to explore the depths as we will be away from our normal routines and habitual ways of living.  We will be immersed in sacred space and consciously working with the elements daily.

Your ancestors are awaiting your awakening.

We are the medicine.

We are the ones we've been waiting for.
