On International Day of the Midwife I wish to honor my midwife. Davi Kaur Khalsa is a power house of a woman. She keeps the energy light and bright and knows how to have a good laugh. She also knows how to meet the mother at her desires and needs.
Davi received many teachings directly from Yogi Bhajan that were passed down orally through thousands of years on Women's health and childbirth.
On this day when so many people lost their right to health care and being a woman is practically a pre existing condition we must invest our resources in what matters to us. We must support our local communities. We must come together as women and rewild ourselves with all the wisdom our grandmothers mothers mothers forgot.
Just like a first time mother innately knows how to give birth because the ancestral memory of Woman is programmed within, we too know exactly how to heal this very, very broken world.
Big thanks to all the midwives out there! You are on the front lines of women's health care. You are seeding the daughters and sons being born of a new world.
We are the medicine. We are the ones we've been waiting for.
